Honey stuffed figs????

A friend asked about purchasing "honey figs" not the variety but figs injected with honey. I don't know if they are fresh or dried, I'd never heard of them and she said the is a specialty food company which sells them at $5 each. I assume that there are members who have heard of these and more importantly know how to make them.

Good question Rich, but I doubt you will get takers.  This is a recipe, and maybe Food TV has your answer.  We like to grow figs that taste like pure honey, but seems strange to inject a fig with honey.  Tell your friend he/she is off base, but to go for it!!

I am new here to the Figs for Fun forum. I came here because I think figs are so enjoyable.  I love to walk the property and pick off a ripe fig and just eat it as I enjoy the surroundings. The very best figs just taste like they are slathered in honey, dripping with devine good taste and unique textures.   However, the other part of the fun in figs for me are the many things you can make with the figs! Grilled, wrapped in prosciutto, made into tortes, drizzled with balsamic made into preserves and so much more!  I grew up in Germany and for a few years we lived in the upstairs apartment of a house that the lower area use to be the town baker. He didn't have his bakery open anymore, but he would still create his wonderful goodies every now and then.  He introduced me to the figs "stuffed" with honey and goat cheese. OH Yum.  I never knew you could buy them though!  They are not hard to make and you could google it and find several recipes.  It certainly is rewarding and fun to make delectable recipes out of our beloved figs!  I'm curious if anyone had any good recipes with the figs? If you'd rather not post them, you can PM me.  Thank you and good luck trying out your honeyed figs. :)
