Honey tasting figs?

Which fig varieties have a honey taste or honey tones in the flavor profile?

I know many are named "honey" but that may be in reference to the sweetness and not necessarily the flavor of bee's honey.

Thanks!

my petes honey has a honey taste (to me anyway)

The various flavors of Malta (Celeste) are generally considered honey figs, but they are their own brand of sugariness.

That oughta get you started.

peter's honey fig does to me as well. problem is when ripe it's very rich like honey. you eat a spoonful of honey and it tastes good, but it's so rich you don't want more (at least I don't). I can only eat 2-3 dead ripe Peter's Honey off my tree, just too rich! I pick them under ripe and then I can eat many :)

whisperer, shah and ohjustaguy, thanks for your input!

Does Peters Honey have a fairly open eye?

I wonder how it would do in the heat such as the Texas summer heat.

Any other bee's honey tasting figs?

Mine has a reallt tight eye. Closed. Very rich indeed though. I like it.

Now I'll have to add that to my list for next year.

Marseilles Black vs has a floral taste, it is not strong but nice. Brunswick tastes like honey to me.

Is an open eye a good thing in the heat? If so Brunswick is your fig.

I have an in-ground Brunswick (or related) fig and I agree that it has a pronounced honey flavor.  I doesn't do so good in wet weather though...
