How about this monster

What I get for leaving them for five days.

You planted it upside down Mike. The roots need to be in the soil. jk... :-)

He Hee

Lol! I had one like that a few weeks ago. I just put it in a larger clear container and potted it up above the roots.

What the hell? Man that looks twisted. Lol

Good luck with it, once you get it acclimated with it's orientation!

Art, I had one a week or so back that had roots all up and down the cutting and I planted it horizontal. This one rooted in the baggy and I planted it
and now these roots have developed mostly while I was out of town.

 Mike,
Love them 32oz inverted cups. When the time is right that baby's gonna slide out'a there like a greased pig......use a warm, wet towel wrapped around that deli cup for a few minutes before you slide that tree out'ta there(it will help unstick the roots from the side of the cup.)......but in your case you may not have to worry about them roots stick'in on that particular tree.    HeHe !!.......   :-))

Vince, I love those cups also and thanks for the advice.

If you have roots, they need to be under soil line. Leaveing them above the soil is wasted energy. A cuttings has been removed from its energy source, so use all the energy that the cutting has to give. It's like you filled your car with gas and left it running in the driveway all day. Just wasteing energy. The only thing different is, you can fill the car back up, but you can't put the energy back in the cutting. By even showing pictures of the likes, others will think this is the proper way to plant. Not trying to get anyone pissed at me, just don't want people learning the wrong way.

reminds me of Einstein's hair

Luke, thanks for your input.

Yes what Luke said eventually they will dry up and wither away.

Martin, I had another wild one a couple weeks back. Those exposed roots dried up and fell off. Same should happen here.

Yes thats what happens  ; )
