How close to ripening when colour appears in fig eye

I have Celeste, Bifara and some unknown figs (probably Celeste) which have started showing colours in the fig eyes of the main crop a few days ago though the fig fruits are still green and hard. What does the appearance of colours in the figs eyes indicate as far as ripening process/timing is concerned i.e. how close or how far the actual ripening is once these colours show up, or is it no indicator at all?
I am asking this because normally our frost free period ends by the end of September or by very early October (& yes that always makes me wish for a warm/hot October).

They are in the middle of the period needed to get ripe.
Just make sure you place them in FULL sun,all day,so they accumulate the heat necesary to get ripe in your climate.
That is all you can do,for now,and if you do,I am sure they will ripe for you.
By the way:
My first inground fig,is showing 3 figs that are expanded and changed color.
It is Marseilles vs black again.
I was keeping evidence,when I have seen embryos,on my figs,and this one I have seen embryos,on June 14
It is 74 days ago.
Of course not all cultivars take 74 days, but more or less, but this evidence I tell you now,is the correct true.
Also the climate might influence it ,to add or substract,a week or 2.

Herman, do you pinch off your Marseillies VS brebas to achieve this  result. Also, maybe other collectors can chime in to provide information on whether their  brebas & main crop figs takes the same length of time to ripen in their more ideal zone. I know for sure in my zone 6/7 my main crop takes  longer time as we lose heat units in late summer going into fall.

Paul:My Inground figs about 5 cultivars,(Older ones),do not keep any breba crop, because it freezes first.
The breba buds are the most sensitive,to cold, and the die,and Fall out most Springs.
So the tree start anew, with only main crop.
I forgotten to mention, another fig that is also inground and started getting ripe now.
Gino Fig,is a black fig,that also is getting ripe,But:
I noticed Embryos on it on the Fifth of June,9 days before Marseilles vs black.
So it took Gino's fig 83 days to start getting ripe.
Also Gino, unlike Marseilles vs Black was protected with an old blanket, and a plastic trush bag over it,trough the winter.
So I do not know if it will act different if I leave it unprotected, wich I intend to do it next winter.
Also I have other ripe figs now,as Atreano,Malta Black,Tacoma Violet,Adriana,but these ,figs spent the winter in my Fig Cellar,were planted,in ground,in April,and had Embryos,on 1st of June,so it took them,88 days,till getting ripe.
Also the Fact that they did not spend the winter inground without protection, make me wonder,if they will be able to compare to Marseilles vs black,or to be as near in cold hardiness,or duration till ripe.

Some of the green varieties (as well as others) which have dark red interiors have color in the eye almost from when the fig appears. You can tell 2-3 months before ripening that they will have a dark interior. Some give no hint at all. VdB is one that has a dark eye from very early in the season. Some even have some darkening of the exterior very early on, though most do not.
