How often to foliar feed 1 gallon trees?

I was wondering how often you could foliar feed new little trees still in one gallon pots? There are a few special ones that I want to pamper and encourage to grow as much as possible. I have Miracle Grow, Grow Big, and Floralicious Plus and rotate among them, mixing following the directions. The recommended once a week just doesn't seem to be enough. Is it okay to spray more often? Evening or morning?

Following. I also want to know this. I feed diluted MG, but it doesn't seem like it's doing much. I want to feed more but don't know if it would could problems.

My cuttings from late last year are in now in 2 gallon pots and are doing great with a mild dose of fish emulsion every 7-10 days (in the soil not foliar). Compost at any time is the best thing if you have it.
Edit: Should have also said that I dechlorinate my water and adjust PH, it makes a big difference with small plants.

I never understood "foliar feeding".  If I wanted a soda I'd drink it not pour it over myself.

* I foliar feed new leaves
daily "1 hour before sunset "
* I lower the recommended dosage "half strength"

it grow like grass "super fast and healthy strong growth"

* new leaves will absorb more nutrients than old leaves

* do not foliar in the morning that cause leaf damaged

I've gotten rampant growth just by applying Miracle Grow to the potting media. Just make sure it isn't building up in the media by leaching with water between applications. Mix according to directions, apply once a week, and they ought to grow fine. If not enough increase frequency.

I see your in Cailf  try this

Creating a Liquid Kelp Fertilizer

You can transform fresh sea kelp into an organic liquid fertilizer for easy application. Simply add two generous handfuls of sea kelp to a 5-gallon bucket full of water. Over a period of three days, stir the kelp and water mixture 3 times per day. At the end of the three days, strain the formula and dilute the liquid using 2 parts water to 1 part kelp formula. Transfer the diluted formula to a spray bottle or mister. Apply the fertilizer during the morning or early evening by spraying the leaves from above and below until the liquid forms droplets and drips off

zone9b is very hot weather long season
small plant will struggle to grow
foliar feeding will fix that struggle

zone7,8 is wonderful weather

Thanks for your responses.

Larry, how do you de-chlorinate your water and what do you add to balance the PH? That sounds like a good idea. Our water company recommends boiling water for five minutes to get rid of chlorine. But that wouldn’t work with chloramine.

On hot days (every day now), my trees sometimes need watering every day which takes up a lot of water. Even diluted, daily MG seems a bit much. They get shade from 1:00 onward, but it’s still baking dry desert heat. I try to use water run through the purifying machine in front of the local grocery store, but that goes quickly.

Rob, There seems to be solid research that foliar feeding can make a slight but significant difference in plant growth.

bo3antar, those suggestions make sense. I’ll try just spraying the leaves late afternoon.

Steve, around three-fourths of the plants are growing great. It’s the one-fourth with a slower growth that I especially want to encourage faster growth. For example, my slowest, Gris de St. Jean has grown by fractions of an inch over the last two months.

pukzpukz –thanks for the seaweed recipe. I haven’t been to the beach in years. Driving takes over an hour. Parking there is outrageously expensive and even then you have to hike 5- 10 blocks distance before touching sand. When you consider gas and parking, buying Floralicious Plus is less expensive.
