How Old Am I ?

Yep 2 years old, that was my second guess ;))

I will guess again for the fertilizer, is it fish guts or composted fish parts?

I think it's where the dog is allowed to relieve himself. I know I stated urine prior. and guess i was more than a second off on the age.

Maybe it's Martin's pee, since he loves the brown turkey's so much they just grew from his energy.

Lol

I was off by 1yr on my first guess argh %^$#&^% maybe im right about my 2nd guess on fertilizer?

Fertilizer is dog pee and human p.

i've had similar results with a 2year old unknown
White fig using fish emultion and 20% dilute urin
Over 100 ripe figs second year.using global bucket

Well I'm still sticking with my guesses about fertilizer, but if that tree is just 2 years old then I've got another question for you Jack:   How big was the cutting?  I mean, was it a 2 foot high cutting that was an inch in diameter and had a couple of branches?  Or a 6 inch high cutting that was a quarter inch in diameter?  Or a 3 foot cutting that was 2 inches in diameter?  Or... (you get the idea).

How about kelp fertilizer?

Fertilizer ?

Yep pretty inexpressive, will probably make a good rotstock for grafting on to.

The correct fertilizer answer is:

Not a tackle shop,
just two fishing nuts who live next to each other.

All they do, is every weekend after fishing,
they empty the melted ice water and fish slime
from all the bait and fish they caught  from the cooler.
Just the water and fish slime is added.

They do this for convienence, not to help the fig tree.
But you can see the results.

They do not bury any fish guts or anything like that.

Peanut shells and rubberband is just trash tossed there.

How much dog urine is added, is anyones guess.
Maybe some human as well, not the best neighborhood ;-)

Wow! Sounds like I need to start using fish emulsion on the figs.

fresh or saltwater fish slime?

Most likely salt I would think with them being from jersey.

Saltwater fish slime

"just two fishing nuts who live next to each other" guess it takes one to know one LOL. I have been doing this on mu vegetable garden for years with very good results, but I also dig a hole for all the fish guts, scales and carcases. Gees they use salt ice in their chiller like me, also we icky our fish when it comes on board and when that is done they will relive them self to so that water will have more than fish slime in it. Will start making my own fish emulsion soon so I can feed my figs with it.

Yeah, those two guys are fishing nuts.
Can count myself as one also,
I do it recreationally and professionally :-)

In the fall I bury  bait fish we harvest locally called Menhaden,
it was tradionally used by the Indians as a fertilizer and farmers
years ago.

Works really well, need nothing else for most vegetable crops

Today its used to extract fish oil,
its what is used in Omega-3 fish oil capsules people consume.

Been to your fine part of the world a couple of times,
I fished for Kingies and Hapaku at Three Kings and White Island,
both times with Cascade Charters.

I love to use fish emulsion in my veggie garden . I make sure that is is very diluted and use a few times especially when growing in pots. I will be using it on my fig trees !!!

Quite an impressive tree!!

That is a magical place whit some monster size fish, world record Kingies and Hapuka, glad you enjoyed it. Got a 4 day trip planed for next month, cant wait

Fish were bigger at Three Kings,
biggest were at the 40kg mark.
but I really liked the active volcano at White,
fun to fish around, also took a visit on White, really unique.

Good Luck on your trip.

thx for posting, a nice organic fertilizer.

OK now the real question...Can I get a cutting???
