How to deal with EBay Scammers

I've been thinking of all the people who scam others on eBay. Why don't we all make secondary eBay accounts and bid all of the auctions of the scammers up. Of course we'd never pay for the auction. After a while they may get the hint and move on. Whatcha think?

Good idea, but you are probably liable for the purchase and subject to bad feedback. A better suggestion might be to post the offenders User names and repeatedly report them to ebay and paypal as being fraudulent. Ebay specifically has been deemed responsible for counterfeit or fraudulent items and has a legal responsibility to remove them from the site. That being said, you can still buy $50 PS3 controllers that are fake for $6. I think we have to help ourselves and have a reference thred to keep updated.

Great idea but If there was another bidder they can just do the second chance offer. That's where negative feedback would hurt them the most.

That's right about the second chance offer.

If it was a "fake" account I wouldn't care about the negative feedback.

I've not had the pleasure of getting scammed. I would not have a chance to leave feedback.

The seller can't leave negative feedback on the buyer. Purchase multiple items and leave negative feed back for each one stating you googled there eBay ID and figured out they were dishonest. Then request to cancel all sales. If they get there account below standard eBay will shut it down.

Hi guys,
Not our business.
It is buyer's risk. Leave it like that.
Someone from the right zone buying those fakes, may still be really happy about the outcome.
It is sad but one "has to cope" with it. I don't feel responsible for people scamming on whatever the site. You shouldn't either.
You could have more problems than the scammers will get. So stay safe, let the rabbit run .
Report them in the appropriate thread if you wish - but don't make it a mission .

If you want to buy, buy from a known seller, or accept the buyer's risk .
When you deal with living material, the risk is always high. That's it .
I already bought soon to be dead trees from reputable nurseries. No one is sure a root-messed/newly planted tree will make it... so with cuttings...
Last word: Do as you want, but don't destroy the forum with that.

JD Your voice of prudence is noted. It does annoy and aggravate me that a few people ruin the fun for others.

Wouldn't this go beyond an EBay issue? Wouldn't this be mail fraud?

Agreed guys. Unfortunate that people have to waste years and money waiting for a variety they will not get. Karma will catch up to them soon enough.
