how to make fig producing fruits.

Hi...
it is any way to make fig producing fruits? Prunning ?

Ang what the best time to produce fig fruits?

Hey there. How old is the plant?

There's a good thread here pinching. I'm replying from my phone so I don't know how to copy a thread link but if you search for "pinching" you'll find your answer. Many people here pinch the tip after 5-6 leaves and that will either force fig growth or new branching. Maybe someone can link that thread for you.

Sramli3,

Training to the desired shape, pruning to form main branches and fruiting branches then pinching to encourage fruiting and fruiting branches, http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=6924651 . Proper nutrition, healthy growing media, sunlight and regular watering are also essential.

Timing is based on your location and season length, but it takes 4 to 6 months from dormancy for most cultivars. Good Luck.

If everything else is right, then add "pinching" to your approach and you will see figs. I am pinching a Hardy Chicago for the first time this year. Before pinching it had a few fruits last year, this year with pinching it has fruit on almost every leaf node. Pinching is to fig production what the match is to a firecracker -- the final touch that gets the results.
