How to plant fig tree video

In this video the host claims that by restricting the roots it forces the fig to grow more figs. Is this true? He also put these big rock in the hole, wouldn't that make it harder to take out if you want to transplant it. The roots might get riped trying to remove them from the rocks.

I've read of this before. In the book I read concrete blocks were used to line the hole. I believe this is a permanent location with no intension of moving the tree.

Ok, i was just wondering about this, but it's not for me. I would rather have a big tree that would produce more than a small one. Also he said that letting the tree grow big might not necessarily allow it to grow figs at all.

I will add it as Link No. 377

I guess he allowed the brebas on Brown Turkey to get so fat just for demonstration otherwise the brebas should have been plucked much earlier which would have helped the main crop. Any other reason?

maybe he like the taste of the brebas better than the main crop.

I was saying that he discarded brebas but too late. He could have removed the breba crop earlier. So, probably he left it on for video sake to show that breba are of no use and be removed in case of Brown Turkey..

O_o
oh.......i forgot that he removed them at the end. i think your right, he might have left them just for demonstration.

My guess is that a few days before the show the they bought the tree at a local nursery who left the fruits on because this way they look more attractive to potential buyers...
