I dont understand something:
I also saw a video by Bass that in siria they are doing the same.
Why do they need to hang caprifigs  on smyrna fig trees if they have wasps in the region?
The wasps wil not go to pollinate the figs automatically :) ?

the was may be there but that does not mean it goes everywhere!
Putting those 'rosaries' of Profichis on the Smyrnas they make sure practicaly ALL figs are caprificated and they do not loose high value yeld.
This is my opinion and it happens here exectly the same..
If you do not do it you may have 10, 20 or 30% of your crop
