I have obe pawpaw tree and i need second to be able to have fruit. How can i propagate this tree. A friend of mine gas one too. Can you root cuttings. Can you air layer. Thanks richie

Paw Paws grown either from grafting or via seed germination (seedlings).

Depends on timing of flowering. Talked to the local expert here and he recommended to grow at least 4 varieties. The trees here
can be grown in the ground but he prefers to grow them in large garbage bins and hand pollinates the flowers. 

You need to have two trees for cross pollination with Paw Paws. If you have two trees, yes, they will cross pollinate.

Thank you everyone. I bought two different tree from same nursery. She said the two varieties she sent ne work well together. So they should flower at the same time. Before i gave one away i thought i could just take a cutting from mine and one from his but its not propagated that way. I will try grafting one variety to they other and vise versa. Dont want to spend another 80 dolkers to get two more trees so we each will ha e one.

Some varieties are said to be self pollinating, like Sunflower and Prima 1216. They are good pollinators for other pawpaws.
