How to start a Worm Casting Farm of your own.

Daniel,
thanks for the heads up...I knew it was too good to be true.
How do I get rid of them besides boiling them to serve someone I really don't like?...LOL

Well, it is and it sin't true.

Rolly Pollys can be beneficial breaking down spent organic matter, but they can also eat live plant matter. If they are in worm bins you have no worries, as you want all that broken down....

If they are in your strawberry bed though....

my compost bean has holes all around it and 2 doors a the bottom sides...would they take off and attack live plants?

i'm in similar climate to you (as in dry). i find them in all my worm towers (i have maybe 20 towers) which are in my vegetable/fruit beds. they seem to be very happy eating what is in there and have done zero damage to the plants in the beds.

i used to have a problem where i would heavily mulch plants and they love the mulch and would eat strawberries too because the mulch was up against them. i had no towers at that point.

Thanks Kevin

I just watched the videos of your front yard, Love what you have done to it..great job.
I love the Pergola you built, I need to make one for my young grape vines. I also want to add Muscatels, anxious to try the taste, I hear a lot of good reviews on their taste.
I saw your worm pipes...now I know how to do it here in my backyard...
Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for kind words.

Muscat grapes taste great, very different from what you can buy in store.

The worm pipes are the lazy-man's way of vermicomposting. There is no maintenance, just adding scraps as needed. I read someone say "it's not the best way to vermicompost, just the easiest". I find that true...
