These are by far the biggest fig leaves I have seen to date. I'm not going to say what they are from just yet.

I'm betting that a couple of people are going to be able to guess the variety fairly quickly.

Here's the one clue; These two leaf shape and patterns seem to be fairly consistent on this tree.

Well, I thought the leaves on Mario's salce fig were huge, but I think these leaves trump the salce.   Do tell Bill.

I rec'd cuttings of this one from a fellow forum member this spring (March). Although I haven't seen her post in awhile.

This is an unknown that originates from Encanto Farms. I'm kinda hoping Jon chimes in on this one because I'm thinking he might recognize it from the leaves.

I just looked, and our Tash Kent, Tacoma, and Lindhurst Whites have leaves about this size, but I'm not sure about the shape.

Laughing my butt off! Very funny Dom & GAfig. I had said to my wife that this must have been the type of fig leaves that Adam & Eve used. They're big enough to do the job - for most of us anyway :-/ .

There are a few small fruit on one of my plants so I'm hoping to get to sample them before cool weather sets in.

I really like the leaves of this one. They are so large and "tropical" looking. Makes a nice addition to any landscape.

Hi Bill.  Those are beautiful leaves.

There truly are lots of things to love about figs, including that they are beautiful enough to be used as a landscape plant even if they didn't have fruit.

The fruit is amazingly healthy for you, and very easy to grow.  At least for those of us in Zone 6 or higher, there is no better or easier food crop for your backyard, and most anyone, anywhere can grow a few in pots.

I am on a mission to encourage people to grow figs in their backyards, because I am pretty sure in the not so distant future they are going to need them.  That's not a negative message, just the truth, and it is positive if we are able to get back to more simple and healthy ways of living.

Hi Sara,

Here are two shots that I took a couple of weeks ago. I'll try to get a better pic later with something in the picture for scale.

One of these went from cutting to about 3' in its first season. This variant seems to root very easily & once it has it's feet into some good soil it really takes off. Mine is still in the pot I rooted it in but has grown through the bottom & into the ground.

Speaking of unusual, I just found an unusual looking fig.

These are two Atreanos: The one on the left is normal, and the one of the right seems to have an exploded flower part on the side of the fig.

(better check the radiation levels in the area)
