humming bird got stuck in my garage.

not sure how long, but i had feeling that the little guy will run out of energy rather quickly without constant feeding, and sure enough within 5 min, it was dropping and landing. got caught in the spider web and that gave me chance to put it in one of my old hat and take it outside.

had some problem flying, try to find the nearest flower patch, but.. well all my flowers are inside of my figs. he dropped on the grass and i had chance to take spider web off its beak. as soon as i finish cleaning the web, it flew off. hope he finds some flowers quick. he looked really tired.

Aww, poor little feller. I had one almost fly into the sun room the other day, I'm happy it didn't, seems like it would be real easy to injure one trying to help it.

Good job Pete.

There you go, Pete.

That's who's been breaking into you truck!

What a kindness you did, to this tiny creature.

rafed, if NSA, or DIA or any one of those alphabet soup group sent that bird to check on my truck, they did a really bad job. i keep my truck on the street x) have to reserve my garage for my wife's car and figs.. lol

We had one that somehow got his head stuck between the rail they sit on to drink and the side of the feeder.  I had to use a pair of pliers to pull the rail out far enough to get his head out....thankfully, he was ok when he got loose.

Pete, here is one that I caught in my garage. They always see the red handle that hangs from the garage door and fly in.

Had one get "stranded" on my front porch. Would not fly low enough to see freedom. Caught him when he started running out of gas and released him near our hbird feeder and he took off

I've had completely exhausted hummingbirds before, and surprisingly if you put their little beak inside a feeder hole they will drink, and they bounce back in no time. They are hard to hold though so fragile...

Hummingbirds always look so grumpy....

art, that one looks just like the one that got stuck in my garage. after i untangled its beak it just flew off. i'm sure he would rather fly empty stomach than get stuck with me.

“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”—Malcolm S. Forbes.

I had a kitchen nook with windows on 3 sides.  A couple of times I removed hummingbirds dangling with their beak stuck in the screen, They thought they could fly straight through my kitchen nook. We put an inch square of green tape in the center of all the screens and never happened after.

Pete, I've actually had to remove a couple of them in the last couple of years.
It seems that they can't figure out how to get back out. They just keep flying above the open garage door.
