This is a no brainer, if you collect figs.  I joined ourfigs.com in October.  Join a group with unbelievable

Congratulations.. Very lucky. How is the Genovese Nero cuttings doing?

It has not really done anything yet (just one week), before i put into soil it had initials and looked very promising.  I watered it for several days before planting.  I have my fingers crossed.

Ill keep you posted on the growth of my winnings...8~)

Good luck rooting them. I also was the winner of the Ponte Tresa cuttings. As soon as I received them I started rooting them in spagnum moss. One has been transferred into a cup and roots are to the edge now. The other cutting is leafing out and starting to show signs or roots in the moss. So far looking good..

It's official, not only did I win (2) Genovese Nero cuttings, but I have chosen and officially won 1 Ponte Tresa rooted tree. 

BTW via Ponte Tresa, where this tree is located, runs almost parallel with via Paradicio . 

Paradicio is one of my cherished trees from last season.  Hope to get more mature fruit this year.  Ciao!

Mai, you are truly an amazing person. I have to admit, when you first posted on this forum I had no clue how to take your posts. But the more you posted, I learned that you are a person who has a passion for plants, nature and people. And now I see that you are a person with great wisdom and do not hold back on how you feel. Your words are direct and with a touch of diplomacy. Thanks for posting on this forum and keep the photos of your travels and growing advice coming for our enjoyment.

Mai,  I see exactly what you mean about the disgusting post and how I brag about OurFigs forum. Yes, it is a place where people all over the world can graciously engage in conversations, exchange Ideas and brag about their favorite figs without being demeaned by haters. 

YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY ANGRY THAT YOUR INVESTMENT IN Ponte Tresa is loosing its' value with every cutting or tree that is not sold by you.

No wonder you are trying to keep good people for buying or selling Ponte Treas.  I understand clearly, you are loosing sales!  I have not seen you generously gift or auction any of your figs, cuttings or trees.....Give it a try you might feel better about yourself.

One thing that I can not understand is why a person would come on this forum, a forum to help one another out, talk about growing figs, having good conversations and making friends. Tell us your motive for treating us this way, we would welcome you with open arms and have great conversations about figs. You have 5 posts so far and I am trying to figure out the positives you have contributed to our forum, only to tell us what you are going to do for another forum and how great the other forum is. We know about the other forum and we feel it is a good forum, but your behavior here tells me that I really do not want to be a member, you are not a positive salesman. I hope you keep on posting here and make post #6 a positive post. We could benefit from your fig growing expertise.

I lurked and joined both forums around the same time, I find both forums helpful. I don't think it's in bad taste to promote the other forum here, unless there are rules against it?

What's so wrong in being a part of both communities? From what I've seen so far they each have their unique benefits.

Not to mention, I see MANY identical threads posted in both forums to get feedback from both communities.

I just noticed something when I looked at OURFIGS. You are listed as an ADMINISTATOR for OURFIGS and as an ADMINISTATOR comes on this forum and acts the way that members are not supposed to act on your forum. Now if you are not an administrator on ourfigs then I apologize but if you are then I know for sure that I will NEVER ask to be a member.

FWIW (take with a grain of salt from a newbie), I find people on this forum to be much more hostile, yet I still come here for information.

On a side note, I have directed people over there to this forum when there was a thread that helped them more over here. Goes both ways y'all.

EDIT: I  meant that just after few days of lurking membership here and a couple of post he uses a wide brush pnting all members on this forum as hostile. That is not a sign of coming here with good intentions. If a poster above is right and if Silveradocanman was listed as 'admin' on the other forum then he could not be just lurking on the other forum as he says .

Well Mike, better take a look at ourfigs and this time it's an ADMINISTRATOR that is being hostile with another ourfigs member and that hostile post is still there.

I really couldn't care less, I have no horse in the race. As far as I can tell, "trouble makers" are weeded out quickly on the 'forum of which we do not speak'.

I'm not here to quarrel, bicker, or play he said she said.

Please again note that I simply observed the hostility with posts on the side of the fence more.

To be honest, his OP didn't seem offensive or childish, it wasn't until someone called it "disgusting" when he decided to take it a different direction. This is strictly opinion.

I never saw this thread as bragging, just somebody who was extremely happy with his good fortune and wanted to tell the world.  I can see why many say they don't post here anymore.
