Curious as to your interest in the Liguria and Veneto regions of Italy.

I took a cutting from a fig tree in Manarola, one of the five towns known as cinqueterre from Liguria  in March 2011 and it is doing very well. here in Tallahassee. I don't have any figs yet, but keep me in mind for the future.

Celt, I think I have seen Jon offering Col de Dame Gris before. Perhaps Sending Jon an email may help.

Thanks Paul I will shoot john an email.

Frank I am takinging over as the chef of a new resturant that specializes in norther costal Italian cuisine. So I am kind of on a Kick with those areas. I ordered muscles from venuto and they are fantasic not like our prince Edward islands the shape is of a date. I got fresh Codeni mushrooms and 24 month prozutto. So why not have figs from the region too I had some nice fresh figs for desert a few years back in Venice Also as a chef I can only get black mission, brown turkey, kadota and kalamata figs. I will keep you in mind for the future too thank you

Fantastic.

I spent 6 years of my life in Padova (half  hour by train  from Venice). The seafood risotto was to die for, among other regional dishes.

You have got to read "Mediterranean Summer", by David Shalleck when you get a chance. It is right up your alley. You will love it.

Frank

Ok will do. I liked the liver and onions as well as the risotto with peas.

Rissoto with about a 6 good size prawns(shell) or a whole fresh crab(shell). Yummie, yummie. Finished off with slightly chilled fresh figs as dessert.
