it's about lunch time.. i have been looking at few figs.. trying to id what i have. not that it matters. but either way.. all this looking has got me hungry for some figs. i think i'll have to go and get some dried fig today.

thanks to sandy, all of my last few figs are off the tree. have one VdB hanging in there along with few Paradiso.. but i doubt they will ripen before going inside.

i want some fig!

Pete, I have 4 Paradiso, 1 Kathleen Black and three Brunswick that are just about ready, maybe Sunday. Come on down. LOL

maybe i'll go home and put some oil on the figs to get them to ripe quicker.

Can someone overnight one to me in Canada please??? lol    anxious to try my first fresh fig. :)

i wouldn't mind trying some of hardy kiwi either. aren't they in season? or has it passed? got 4 different hardy kiwi, two male and two female, and i can't wait till spring to see them grow.. unless i kill them first over the winter.. 

Yes the hardy kiwi season is done here. Didn't have much this year due to the early warm weather that started growth early followed by frosts in April that took out the flower buds. Hopefully more next year.

I've got a Beall just about ripe. Ther first ever, and grown from a cutting just this past year. Could pick it today - it's large and plump and softish-  but am going to wait another day - or at least till tonight. I've been bringing the plant in every night so nothing else picks it for me. Fortunately it's large enough to share. This time. :)

Persimmons are coming on around here now, though the crop looks lighter than usual.
