Caprified figs in the past have been the same size, shape and color that they normally are, on this tree.
It just illustrates the variable nature of figs, and part of why it is so hard to identify them. This is one day, one tree, and there are half a dozen sizes and shapes, some smaller than normal, some larger, some longer, some squatter, one with a fat neck, etc. This is in line with the Lemon fig pix I posted earlier, which were 3 times as large this year, and completely different tasting.
I'm not really giving up, just scratching my head a little as I watch the figs "unfold" this season. What will they do next?
