I have rotten pith and need some help please

On my new tree that i bought, there is one branch that looked rotten , but on top it looked healthy ,so I decided to cut on top the healthy part and graft it lower on the same bench, basically cut that bad section out and reconnected .
The top part looked healthy but when they cut the bottom part, the pith was gone, so i cut it even lower, but it was rotten again, so I kept on coming in until I found a healthy pith, but i follow it all the way down to the main trunk and it was going one more inch into the main trunk towards downwards.
what do I need to do? will it rotten my whole tree? is that a disease?
the other part of the tree looks very healthy.

I wouldn't bother grafting. You'll have plenty of fresh new growth. Cut off the bad section and use the good part for cuttings.
