I heard the word Nor'easter

So out of left field I heard a weather guy say the words possible Nor'easter.  Now that doesn't necessarily mean snow but what the hell, it was 60 degrees today.  The temps are suppose to drop down to 28 F on the back side of the storm.  Possible accumulating snow North of 495.  Crap!  I've been meaning to get my snowblower serviced.  I changed the drive pressure disk thing last year but still have to push it because the traction slips.

I saw that line cut straight north of Worcester from Maine to NY on a 45 degree angle. I'm not ready to bring my trees in yet. I hope that forecast changes a bit.

I'm south of 90 off of 495 so I'm OK for now but that could change in a heartbeat!

I guess the weather man was not bluffing this time!

It is coooming today!
I am not concerned about my F.carica (they can take a brief cold snap).
But I'll better be  protecting them pretty soon...

Right now, I am hustling to protect [bringing in] my 'other' more sensitive tropical specimen trees...

Gorgi you are more north than me. I think I'm getting more rain here. How brief of a cold snap is ok? Most of my trees a less than a year or two years old so I brought them into the garage.

We are expecting 6" to 8" of wet heavy snow in this area of NH starting late afternoon/early evening and an inch or two Sunday as well.
All the trees got put in the barn yesterday.
This is way too early for this kind of storm.
Hope my in ground Florea enjoys its' first snow.

Global warming??

Or is it Global Worming??

Yes it is to early for this stuff. It is 32F here and the snow is coming down. I am glad that I only have 2 figs to take care of and got them in yesterday. I am hoping that every ones figs will make it through this. Fell bad for the ones that weren't able to get there plants in.

Beautiful scenery, bugs. It almost makes me nostalgic for snow.

C'mon up, the snow blower is warming up now! LOL. Thery're only predicting 6 to 9 inches for me.

I said I'd never move to Florida, but if I get another year like last, Florida Here I come!

Holy smoke!

Wet HEAVY/sticking snow is coming down.
My fig trees still having big very green and me looking out the
window, I see many branches bent/pinned/weighted down right to the ground...

We never get snow until after Thanksgiving. One time a few years ago we got snow on Halloween, but don't remember what the winter was like. What's going on with this weather? HOT HOT short summers and COLDER winters that seem like they will never end. And more use of the snow blowers.

Dominic, I envy you when your weather is nice and you get all your great figs, but this time of year has to be hard on the back .

Some pics (from cozy inside):

ALERT alert; WARNING warning....

STAY away from being under big trees...

Heads UP everybody!

Less than 30-45 minutes from me taking the above pics,
I determined  that one of my precious Japanese maples
was just about to snap-off some of its branches.
Yes, unlike F.carica, JM wood is very brittle!
I went out to shake off the load of the wet heavy snow.
Within the next 15 minutes, I see 3 separate large branches
FALLING down  from (wild) background trees; no kidding!.

... compare these two pics ...
... me and my neighbor can use a chain saw....
Bye, bye old crab-apple tree; I'll will miss your lovely annual white/pink spring blooms...

Update...
Since me posting the above; I see another big branch on my neighbor's deck!
 ... and ... and ....
I just heard a loud cracking noise ... it must be another falling tree nearby....

We did not get that much snow, thank heavens. Our snow is all gone now, it is just wet and cold 32F, I seen 29 for tomorrow night.

This snow here in So. CT just won't stop! Predicted to continue until
6 AM Sunday. I have over a foot of this white stuff so far . I put some
of my figs in the garage around noon time. After going thru 3 pr of gloves
sopping wet I had to quit. I had so much snow on me I looked like a
walking snowman. Hung my jacket in the shower it was so wet. Still
not dried out. So far I still have elect. but thousands are out and
may be for some time. I still have many figs outside and just hope for the
best. Temp. is hovering now at the freezing mark. My figs have suffered
everything this year. Those that servive will be real keepers for this area.

Peg,

I lucked out in terms of snow amounts, but the snow finished off what the hurricane couldn't.

Boy you really have a mess on your hands, sorry to see so much destruction. Good luck with your clean up. Glad no figs were affected.

We just ended up with slush here but we are getting high wind gusts again.  Put all my smaller figs in the cellar but we are suppose to see down to 28 F tonight.  I'll probably cover up my large EL Negronne.  The willisorchard unkowns can fend for themselves.  Jeez Dominick, what a mess, That looks like it's going to be a lot of work to clean up.  Keep an eye out for down power lines.  I already heard in the news about a guy who got electricuted when he touched a metal fence with a live wire down on it.

Thought I was going to lose my DirecTv and Football today! LOL
