I just signed up to the forum

Hi everybody! I saw another thread started by somebody who was new, and I was almost going to introduce myself there, but I didn't want to steal their thunder.

I've come to the forum over the last six months or so, but didn't sign up until today.

My name is Fred and I live in New Jersey.

My wife and I purchased a home last year and I moved one of my Dads fig trees by digging up part of the root and replanting it. It's doing well this summer but no figs yet.

Over the last six months I've purchased some fig cuttings online and have had some success! I currently have three Italian fig cuttings, one black mission fig cutting, and one white fig cutting from Turkey that are doing relatively well.

My wife is afraid that at some point our property is going to be overrun by fig trees!

I just wanted to say hello and thank everybody for all of your use full information.

Fred, welcome to the asylum. BTW your wife is probably correct!

Welcome Fred!  Good luck with your fig hobby!  Nice intro, BTW!

Wecome to the mad house! !!! Where opions are welcomed. And everyone has one. Richie from louisiana

Welcome!  We have lots of members in NJ, NY and PA.  You can search members by location and look at posts from people near you.  Bass isn't too far and he's posted a list of his favorite in-ground plants.  Same with Herman2.  Focus on getting the varieties that do best in your area so you'll leave 1-2% of your land without a fig tree planted.  Good luck!

Welcome to the forum Fred! Your wife it right so we might as well tell you that up front. Pretty soon you'll be hiding fig cutting and tree purchases from her. lol
