You have to admit, there is a rush you get when you see the first signs of rooting!!!
They all look great!!!
And three great members!!!

Hi Eden, so, the paper towel doesn't cover the bottom of the cutting? Did you wash the cuttings?

I will succeed at this!!

Of course Mario from that moment excitement begins.

Jo-Ann yes i don`t cover bottom 1 inch and p
aper should be damp not to wet. I wet paper and squeeze as much as I can, every time i check my cuttings i check paper to so if is to dry i wet them again. I wash cuttings with soap. I can tell you from my experience from last year, too much water will kill the cuttings.

Interesting how they root at the bottom like that. Mine seen to push roots all over, so I plant mine before they reach more than 1/8".   when they push roots  they are pushing for them in the soil/dirt/.

i cover my cutting all the way to the bottom. not sure it matters. it will still root. problem with cover all the way to bottom like way i do is, you have to check every so often so the root doesn't stick tot he paper towel.

rafed, marius, and kerry.. they are all very generous members of this forum.

Eden, nice pics. You must have started some rooting in August. Yes those three guys send out some really nice wood.

Pete I check my cuttings at list every other day and when i cover them all they push roots all over as Grasa is saying.

Mike i start some in September and some in November, I was surprised when I saw some Marius and Rafeds cuttings start rooting after only one week.

Eden, what is in your secret rooting/potting mixture?

That could be a mistake I made - I had mine wrapped on the bottom and maybe to much water.

Mike i keep my cuttings in the bag at 75-85 F and i found out higher temp faster rooting but not more then 85F. I use 90% perlite and rest professional mix. I try 50-50 perlite-mix and I had 50% success, 60-40 perlite-mix 60% succes, 70-30 succes was 70%, with just all professional  mix 5-10% success. Now i am trying sphagnum moss and so far so good. BTW I always sift my perlite.
