Funny you say that because they are selling two brooklyn white cuttings and one celeste.

I ordered the cuttings as well (from ebay).  They sent me an email asking for feedback before I had even received them.  It took them almost a week to get them in the mail. 

However, the cutting were leafing out after a week.  Hopefully they will actually root.

I have never purchased anything from this Ebay seller but I can tell you from purchasing from Canada or in your case shipping to Canada that your cuttings are probably stuck in customs.  Wish you the best in getting your cuttings. 

I ordered a bottle of Hennessy Bras D'or from the U.K. and to make a long story short. They shipped it on Monday and I got it today and I have proof.

I deliver into Canada often. I may be able to provide you with a few Celeste cuttings. Or, you may contact Adriano. He is a very nice man to deal with.

I would still mention it to Ebay because THEY still have a problem if one of their sellers is being unethical and commting fraud. You can be contrite and admit that you screwed up when you contact them, and maybe play a little dumb (not too much - but it did start out as a legit transaction), but that doesn't mean that THEY don't still have a problem. One of their sellers is using their service to commit fraud. I would still put it on the record.

All International parcels and letters are checked in the last month because ofr terorist threats,and incidents.
It is stuck in custom.

This is just speculation, Now that you mentioned Customs!

The package may have traveled down the conveyor belt at the post office and a U.S. Customs bomb or drug sniffing dog happens to be present at the moment and started barking. So they decide to put the package through the x-ray machine and the saw some plant material. So they open the package for further examination and confirm that it is plant material.

Assuming the seller did not provide the proper papers for international transport of live plants they decide to hold on to the package and investigate and probably pay the seller a ( nasty ) visit.

like I said, This is only speculation,
But if it is then that would explain why the seller has been hard to find.

I have received an empty envelope from a very kind donor of fig cutting this year minus contents. No reasons given by customs but empty envelope. It took almost a month before empty envelope arrives.

Nelson if you bought your money order at a bank you could go see the branch and declare it as stolen. There is a procedure for this but not every employee is aware of it. Just skip the details of what really happened and say it was fraud…

I also sent a registre letter oversee on 20th of August,and it was not received to date.
It was very important to me because it contained Power of Attorney for the estate of my parents,wich both died recently.
I went to the US post office,and that is what they told me.
It is not lost,it is in custom for inspection,due to terrorist activities.
So this was the official answer.
I did pay $12 for the letter to get there in time,because it is time sensitive.

Sorry to hear about your parents Herman. I too just send a letter to Portugal and it arrived there in 4 days but I express posted with fed ex. Oh by the way I still have not received a reply from the Seller I sent them another email this friday morning and still no reply.

I came to U.S. at 4 years old,  we went back every year. I also went back to italia and stayed for 8 years when I was younger, I remember to write to Italy then, took about 2 weeks to deliver to my family in the hometown, we were very rural, roads were dirt going halfway to Roma. I write to Italy about once a week to someone these days, and it seems the letters get there in 3-4 days each time.  Actually, the relatives and friends get the letters quicker than when i send them to inlaws or people here in the U.S.   I wonder sometimes about the post office, but I do hope you can get your cuttings nelson intact.  Are the borders stricter in Canada/U.S. border as apposed to Europe or other places importing or exporting to America. I don't find it a problem to receive figs from foreign sources. I can't say anymore about this, I hope you have good luck soon.  What could be problematic is Hermans predicament.  Especially when legalities are involved. Thanks Maggie you know for some reason I have had more issues between the US/Canada border than getting things from europe or sending to europe.

What I don't understand is why the Seller won't even reply to your emails, Makes me wonder about that Seller!

Cecil I agree 100% thats the thing that is bothering me the most because they sure replied quick until they received my money. Bad business ethics I would never do business with them again or have anything positive to say thats for sure.

Nelson & Cecil, that's always been my gripe w/eBay. They let these unscrupulous ones do it over & over without any retribution. One guy called Plantranch I ordered a Hardy Chicago a couple years ago. I received a little plant, but definetely was not a fig at all. He refused to make it right, so I gave him negative feedback. Guess what---he gave me negative feedback too making up some hard to swallow story. Then the guy had some nerve to ask me to mutually agree to remove the negative feedback. He did this to everyone that had a problem with his products. He had 100's of negative feebacks in a year, then abruptly quit selling(or changed his user name) when they only allowed the buyer to leave neg. feedback. I had a similar experience with Hirtsgardens/Seedmart! Okay, I'm off my soapbox now! Ha!

Since this started off through ebay I could still leave them negative feedback wich im sure they will do the same for me. Its a loose loose situation so at this point Im not even counting on the cuttings maybe in a way its best since my collection is growing very quickly but regardless I paid for them and will do what I can to make sure they get in some trouble. Its the least I can do. I know Cecil and Martin tried contacting them did they ever reply to you guys?

I think I need to buy a house asap and get out of the condo to have room for all these fig plants my office is starting to look like a jungle. I have come to realize I might have a fig collecting problem. Nah
