I think I got Punked !!

>>> I think I need to buy a house asap and get out of the condo to have
>>> room for all these fig plants my office is starting to look like a jungle.
>>> I have come to realize I might have a fig collecting problem.

You are now a hooked-fig-junkie (like most of us)!

An acre (or 2) of property, will be very useful....

[I do wish/long for such a thing]

Oh that would be a dream come true. Acreage here in the city is like Gold good luck finding a house with 1-2 acres for under a Mil. My mother in law lives about 1hr east of me has 10 acres and does nothing with it. That just gave me an Idea though thanks Gorgi lol.

Ok so I called ebay last night and it was a lost cause lady I spoke started telling me how you buy on ebay so I just left the seller negative feedback im sure they will contact me now hopefully. Scammers

This bugs me soo much, lack of communications.  I don't see why they couldn't just email you back, something to hide definitely. I found out that if a fig is patented, you can't sell it without the person knowing who named the fig, BASS, if he patented the name of Brooklyn white, maybe they got that information.  I get tired of asking aquestions and not getting answered or being constantly shifted from one operator to the next and nobody knows any answers to your question!!!!!!!

The funny thing is that after I contacted Ebay and they did nothing for me I left negative feedback and they pulled out all their itemson Ebay. Now thats fishy. Thanks for the Info Maggie I believe Bass had tried contacting them as well in the past and they never replied to him either.

In the past I even noticed the same seller I think using a picture I took of my own Brooklyn White and they're selling the plants or cutting of a different plant. Thanks to Jon who brought it to my attention and alerted ebay and they took it down afterwards.
It's not a patented variety so I don't care if they sell it, but what I hate most is misleading people that it's a Brooklyn White and it's not. We have enough naming confusion with figs.

Thanks for Postin Bass this is shamefull we should start a Figs most wanted list so other people dont get ripped off. Well looks its time for me to focus on what I already have and just let things be for now.

To gorgi
" An acre (or 2!) of property, will be very useful...."

This summer I went out to the rural suburb of Ottawa to buy some Blueberry plants (though I am giving up on them now). It was a quiet place. I noticed two hugest greenhouses unused. I asked and was told that these were erected for contractual use which (contract) got tangled. All I could think of was a fig heaven there.... along with my other fruit trees which I have semi-ignored because of figs). What a waste it seemed. I sighed!

This is unbelievable.  We are a little behind on answering emails.  We have sent the cuttings out to you via USPS last week but no tracking number is given to us since it is posted to Canada.  Please take back the negative feedback.

Uh Huhhhhhh

Oh Cecil it gets better check the one I got after, now the ball is on my court

We apologize for the delay.  Please remove the negative feedback now (and we'll refund the 24.99 to your paypal account).  You can keep the cuttings once they arrive.  Let us know what you think.  Happy Gardening.

Heres what I think Homie Dont Play That

I say good for Homie

Well Nelson,

Now that you stirred the hornets nest they decide to act.

I don't know what it may be worth to you but I would burn the cuttings and take a picture and email it to them and have them shove the refund you know where and keep the feedback the way it is.

Set an example to them and all other scoundrels and tell them us forum members are like one big family ( an army of one ) and refuse to be taken any longer.

This is my 00.2 cents

Rafed

Rafed

You said "This is my 00.2 cents"!

That is worth a million.

Ottawan,

I speak from the heart.

Part of the time I was thinking there could have been some custom/border delay.

But as it turns out they where simply ignoring the man.
Of all things it was over $25.00. How low can they stoop!

Sounds like some crackheads.

I have Celeste at home and the next time I go to Canada I will take to him as many as he wants.

Heck, I'm on my way to Laredo, Tx.
I just might pick him up a potted one.

Rafed

Lol Rafed you made me laugh, I agree because they only replied because I send them an email saying that I had started an investigation with ebay and left them negative feedback, They replied within 2 hrs . After I received the last message I replied and said thanks for the offer but I will pass I only want what I paid nothing more nothing less. They deliberately deleted my emails and only cared once I left them Negative feedback now they can wait like I have. I was told cuttings would go out once M.O arrived they supposedly shipped them 2 weeks later. Personally I think they are full of $h*t.

you guys are funny, but oh sooooo true.  Whatever you do nelson, don't take back any of the feedback you left, they need to be taught a lesson and maybe they will in future, answer a question and not flub someone else off. The only time they took any action to contact you was when it may have looked bad them, and didn't give a damn about you before the negative,. these are self centered ignorant people and need a good lesson taught to them. I have the same problem everywhere with everyone singing the same opera,  MeMeMeMeMe Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  The only bothered to care when it affected them, not their own customer, which you were.  To be honest, wonder if the cuttings you will receive will be genuine or not, the way they do business in other ways.  You'll have to get these from reliable people on this forum, Yes, we ARE one big family here.  Ciao

Just remember, Italiangirl the opera is not over until the fat lady sings!

Maggie you are absolutely right with all the genuine people here there was no need to go else where. I think I just cant go on ebay period cause if I see something Im interested in and its affordable I dont think twice. Thank god ebay.ca never has fig trees for sale like ebay.com does or else I really would be living in a fig jungle.

Nelson, I wish Home Depot and Lowe's had a place to leave negative feed back. There ratings would not be 100%, as far as I am concerned. They sold me fig trees six years ago that will not produce fig here. They sell a lot of other fruit trees that will never make fruit in this area, and tell people they will.

Lowe's has been running their "Lowe's Knows" campaign for years, I always teased my son who used to work for them that "lowe's doesn't know $h*t". They are all at the mercy of the nurseries that supply them.Walmart & Home Depot are the same. They place hanging baskets of ferns in full sun and put their cactus & vegetable plants in dense shade. Lots of shade plants come in labeled for full sun from the nurseries that supply them. All bad information for gardeners who don't know any better. No wonder there is so much plant confusion, including figs.

Jstall I feel your pain 9 years ago I got a so called Meyer lemon from home depot at the time they said it would produce lemons every year even said that on the label lol what a joke 9 years later and it still has not flowered this year my mom just got rid of it and bought an improved Meyer lemon from a nursery I wonder if it will be the same thing.

Nelson,

In the early 1990's I bought a car (foreign , I may add) that turned out
to be a "lemon" (with lots of mechanical problems).
Later, I also bought a lemon (fruit) tree, an Improved Meyer Lemon,
to be exact. It turned out that IML is not a "true" lemon after all...
(I should have done some more research). It is a hybrid from China,
tastes very different (sweet - not sour) from any lemon I used and
does not even come with that classical lemon-nipple.

As to your (in)famous ebayer in question; is it possible that he/she went
away on some vacation or some other (unforeseen) emergency?
If/when you receive your package, do take note of the post/ship date,
more truth may come out....

Gorgi I asked and they just said they had been busy, If the cuttings do turn up one day I will definately check out the date. The deal was they would ship as soon as they received the MO wich they did on the 21st of sept. and Yesterday they told me it was shipped last week.  Also the last two weeks they have posted items on Ebay so at this point they are just upset because they thought I couldn't give them Negative feedback because the auction was cancelled. I wouldnt dout it if they ship them out yesterday .

There is such a very good thing as Adriano Figtrees in Ontario, Canada
http://adrianosfigtrees.com/varieties.html

It should be within a reasonable driving distance from you?
If/when you ever vist, say a hello to AF from me...
