Oh no I think this thread will down hill in a hurry

It's not unusual for other cultures to use what they have most of foe things like this. In the Philippines they use banana sauce for catsup.

Please don't post recipes with puppy parts or horse meat. Thanks in advance.

Oh sorry, I never knew that 'catsup' is an other word for 'ketchup' (as in Heinz);
(or vise versa for that matter) - go figure!
I thought that catsup was some kind of 'soup' for cats!

Would not like to waste any of my fresh ripe fig but to eat it fresh. That is the only purpose I grow  figs....

Curry ketchup is so good but it's never really caught on in the U.S.

yeah. fresh fig is it for me... tho, i might soak mine in wine this summer. thinking about 5 course fig dinner for some of my friends. some fresh fig and fig soaked in white wine for starter, fig salad, some fig themed cold soup with light cream, folloewed by lamb chop or rack of lamb with fig glaze. fig prepped like pear in red wine... and fig stuffed with blue cheese and walnut wrapped in prosciutto. and fig soaked in some good vodka to finish with good coffee.

I hope someday to have enough figs to make dishes with them. We like to eat them fresh but I'm sure my wife will put them in a salad this year. We eat a lot of raw and steamed vegetables.

Good as a BBQ sauce /dip for chicken on the grill

uhm... no thanks, lol
