I was wrong about Strawberry Verte

Up until now, I never liked Strawberry Verte.  I always told people it's my worst tasting fig.  I've described at as pure sugar in a bad way with too many crunchy seeds.  Well, this year, it is still sweet, but not only sweet.  It has a good berry flavor and not so many seeds.   So I was wrong.   I've had it for about 5 years now and was going to give it away after this year, but no longer.   It's one of my best this year.   I also had the first ripe Panache today and it is just as good as Panache.   So don't count out your figs if you don't like them right away.

Great Posting, I think there are a lot of variables that affect taste. The Amount of Sun, Amount of Water, Fertilizer, Dirt...etc....
Great Reminder that it may taste like a dud but it can change later...Thanks for the Posting.....I tasted a fig from my friends tree...
I believe its a Desert King Fig it was almost the size of an apple....I thought it was a big Kadota but it had a red pulp and that figgy taste
and somewhat sweet....Great Day !!!!

It usually takes about 5 years for a fig  tree to reach it's full potential for taste. Gotta have patience.

Figfanatic,
Maybe you've just tasted young BT's... ;-) LOL
