Ice Crystal

That is even prettier than the Silver Lyre! Which grows splendidly in central Texas by the way. The English nurseries don't give us much cause for hope for figs from either though. Small and blah they say.

Ice Crystal to me somewhat resembles ice crystals in nature or maybe a . snowflake. At least it puts me in mind of it and I believe that is why it was named that. The flat things you see are rocks. I use rocks on some plants for a couple reasons, to prop up the stem, and if a squirrel decides to dig in a pot I put rock on top to prevent that. Those rocks you see are propping up the plants. I really should just use a stake, but I have more rocks than stakes.

Those dumb tree rats dig holes in my pots and place the nuts in there. Problem is they forget where they burried them. Next thing you know is you have a tree growing along your prized fig.

Yes Rafed, that has happened to me many times, with figs and other plants, so when I see them digging I get a bunch of small rocks and cover the soil. Gravel also works.

Ah, Rafed and Barry, thanks for the tip about the rocks!  I'm tired of getting oak trees crowding into my fig tree pots.  (Not to mention the holes in the soil).  I'll try some flat rocks and maybe some gravel too in some of the pots.

Well I hope you don't have an earthquake anytime soon. I can't imagine gardening with out rocks. eveerytime I dig a hole I find a few.

My Ice crystal is now forming figs. We'll see how good these figs are. They seem like they'll end up being dark figs.

Pete,

Cheap landfill for them, years of headaches for you.  I would like that either.

Is this the same as silver lyre?

Grown for foliage although it will set fruit

Reads don't ship to the U.S..
Bummer.

But we have everything they have. Just a matter of getting it distributed amongs our selves. And that's the hard part.
