Any body try a fig from an Ice Crystal and what was it like ?

I am curious about the ice crystal fig myself, I'm sure some here has eaten them before.

I didn't have time to listen to it closely and because of the accent it is hard for me to completely understand, but he did say that it puts on two crop, one in Spring and one in Fall. He also said that it could take the cold well. When I have time I will try to decipher more.

You know with a new strain, the most efficient way to get infos is to grow it yourself to evaluate it.
For me, IC is NOT bifera BUT as most uniferas sometimes you get 3 or 4 "brebas" but most of the years the tree will behave unifera .
In the video the guy says that it is a slow grower  - mine is slow .
He says that one could get figs even in the North of the Loire - so with no wasp ...

Ho man, really a smyrna type ...  Well, I'll let you know - I don't have the wasp - so perhaps another error in the video ...
I'll let my tree grow and see what I'll get.

Please let us know the fruiting outcome. Seems there might be a number of varieties from central Asia/Persia that share the intricate leaf pattern but may differ in gender or type (Afghanistanica/johannis/SilverLyre/IceCrystal, etal.) Beautiful plant, though. Bass posted about a fruiting variety in an old thread: http://www.figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Afghanistanica-2636916.
