I received this fig about 3-4 yrs ago as a cutting. The original tree came from Italy with my grandmother's friend and was planted in southern Indiana. I do not know the variety and would like to get it identified if possible. The fruit does change to a purple color when ripe but I do not know how dark. I have been fighting ants in previous yrs because they eat the figs before they are ripe. They enter through a hole on the bottom of the fig. The unripe fruit is speckled. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/iGWxOt5i-Sh6I2T3PLb0PdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlinkhttps://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/38aM2Jzw6BrmgnUyfeFTHdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlinkThanks

Need pics of the ripe fruit (inside & outside) for an ID in most cases. To combat ants, use your preferred search engine to find "tanglefoot". Welcome to the forum!
