I'd like to get cuttings

I ate my first fig ever a ago.

I'm interested in growing some fig trees at my home, but buying the trees is 'cost prohibitive' at $25-60 each.

So, I am wondering if anyone has cuttings available for postage- or maybe even in my region for pick up. (I'm in the Hudson Valley of NY.) I realize I'm new to the group, so I hope my asking doesn't ruffle feathers, but I also know that now is pruning time, and maybe my last shot for a while.

I don't have a preference for variety, but would like something hardy to zone 6a so I can leave them in place in the winters.

Thanks ;)

I don't think anyone will send you cuttings without knowing you a little first. I'd recommend checking out edible landscaping & well spring gardens. They have a decent selection of figs at very reasonable prices.

I would give u a cutting later, its risky right now for my 3 foot tall fig, also, its Conadria, a really good fig...

It's not doing good... Ross, when would you reccomendI take a cutting, its "recovering"

You need a cold hardy fig like Hardy Chicago.  There will be good deals on lots of cuttings soon.

likeo, thank you for the thought;)
Ross, I understand some people are like that, but I will never get it. I'm happy to share if I have extra; usually,I plant waayy to many seedlings, just b/c i know I can give them away in the spring. I get geeked knowing my stuff is out there growing :D

plus, it always comes back to you I've had my fair share of tomatoes, apples and eggs cartons dumped on my porch.

Charlie, do you have suggestions for where to look and other varieties?

There are some cuttings on the board right now for 2 dollars each. Some of them are what you would need cold hardy wise.. :)

I just saw that last night. Thanks for pointing it out;) I was trying to see what would work. Chicago and Marseilles, if I read correctly...
