Identification needed

Hi fig friends,

I need help!

A friend of mine has a fig that is very good testing. HI asks me to tell what variety is this … and I failed.

This fig is in ground in zone 7a/8b Bulgaria (EU), without winter protection. Probably of  Italian origin.

I will highly appreciate any suggestion …

Hi pako,
Tell him I need some cuttings to investigate further :P .
Nothing known to me ... And those figs look really good !

My Suggestion:If it is ripening now on an older tree,(older than 7 years old),then it is a late ripening Cultivar.
I can see the fruits are main (second crop),not breba,so,in this case :
The fig can be Violette de Sollies,a commercial cultivar in France.
It suppose to be darker ,but your climate might be cooler than Southern France or ,the fruits were taken earlier than ,fully ripe.
This is my Honest Opinion!

They look beautiful.  Perhaps some leaf photos could help with identification.

Additional information about this fig.

It is more than 7 years old. It was killed to the ground one time, from winter cold. Starts bearing about 15-20 august and anthill the end of September will be finish. First figs are green, but ripe and good tasting. Later figs become dark blue in color.

Herman2, Thanks a lot!
