i'll need to add more drip system.

now the temp is in 90s. 3 gal containers in the sun are getting stressed by the heat every other day. i need to change my system a little and add 1/2 poly tube to give more coverage and more water sent to 20 or som plants in the back. dragging my hose to the back every other day is.. drag..

been using Mister Landscaper system so far. any better brand recommendation?

Pete,
I use Ewing (local) for bubblers, 1/2" & 1/4" tubing, and connectors when I run out. Dripworks.com is my go to place for large orders (filters, fittings, couplers, tubing, etc.). They have an excellent selection and good product prices.

I have a system to water my pots using pot stakes for the smaller pots and spot spitters for the larger ones.  It kicks on twice a day for 9 minutes at a time.  Once the heat really kicks into high gear I may bump it up to 3x a day.  I like spot spitters for their simplicity but the minimum pot size seems to be ~3-5 gallons.  I plan, at some point, to only have a few figs in pots with the rest in the ground.  I've ordered most of my stuff through http://www.dripirrigation.com/.  I think they mostly carry DIG stuff, though the spot spitters are John Deere.  Minimum order price for free shipping is rather large though compared with some other sites.  Been happy with the quality, though the DIG battery-operated timers I use seem a little flakey as of late.  Might go with a wired system eventually for reliability.

even with heat, my 1 gal are under the shade and they only need water once 3 days at most. sometimes, they will go a week.

it's the 3 gal and larger that are out in the sun. they will go about 2 days before the leaves will start wilting. my 10 gals are already on drip system. so far with mild summer, 9 min in the morning has been plenty. since i only have 3 10 gal, they run on 1/4 tube. with more plants, i'm trying to set it up with 1/2 tubing and then 1/4 to the plants off that 1/2. i heard with typical house water pressure, it will water about 50 plant or more.

Pete move the white types into harms way and protect the dark types.
Better yet to save on water bill, fertilizer, potting mix, container purchases, labor etc just get rid of the white types , perhaps keep one as a reminder you really dont need them !

All in Fun.

I do what JD mentioned, for us the 1/2 tube at a hardware store is about 30-50 bucks for a 100 foot roll.  Then I just buy from a couple different places for connections and drippers etc. I don't put on a pressure regulator but I am above 20 lbs in all the lines based on drip test (put a dripper in a cup time for 10 minutes and multiple by 6 to make sure the dripper is giving the right amount of water.)

When I read the title to the thread I was thinking Pete's be having some extra dark beer again.;)

I use the same spot spitters that Tim mentioned. Very simple design, if you do have clogging issues easy to correct. I have not got my layout working like I want at the new place yet as with all this rain I have not need to use it much. If you spend some time working it out you can run 30 Gal pots in the same run as 3 gal.

I use a 1-10 gph 533 "bubbler" made  by Irritrol

They can be screwed down to a dribble, or opened wide, and anything in between, as needed.

rafed.. only if i was in germany.. i heard they have beer cart at office during the lunch.. sigh.. :)

martin, all the light types are for back up in case the birds decide to have all my dark types. i need something to snack on while watching the birds in envy.. lol

Pete birds not problem here but you should gather the white types while still hard and throw them at the birds that are getting near your plants.

martin, i was doing just that 2 days ago. promised some VdB cuttings to some members (i know it's sort of late for cuttings, but i've been putting it off) and it was time to cut down the "sucker" that was 4' tall. took it down and had about 20 figs on it, so... i started winging at the near by birds. i think the birds are much faster than my fig throwing.

Ya Pete,

Every third white fig you throw you should throw a dark one as a tracer.
