Perhaps you can try writing to Bass, Gorgi, Herman2, Marius, Richard Watts, etc and ask them to air layer a small plant for summer shipping.
I do not have Black Medeira ready yet to share, but I do have 2 small ones that I am hoping to get to flourish this season so I can share cuttings of it in the fall. If you have no luck in finding it until then, I would be happy to share with you I the fall. My Black Madeiras are from UCD. Do you consider UCD's to be the "real" Black Madeira? Christy

Yes i do. The reason i said the real Black Madeira was because of the shady guy on eBay and there isnt anybody else selling them. Only one seller that i won't buy from. Also thank you for your offer.
it always goes back to Black Madeira. as long as this variety has been around, the demand still out runs the supply.

Well, ok, just once I bought cuttings off Ebay from Encanto Jon's leftover cuttings, but he does not count :) Yes, remember to PM me whenever you want during the season. I will let you know how they are doing. Also, have you looked for Preto? I know some say they are the same? Adriano's fig list has Preto listed with Black Madeira in parentheses. But you would have to ask the "pros" on here more about it since I do not know the whole story. Maybe one of them can weigh in on this? from most who have grown FP and BM side by side, they do not seem to be the same. both very good fig, similar to each other, but not the same.
Yea, Preto may hold you off until you get a BM. Supposed to ripen a couple weeks earlier too!
