I'm worried about my Black Madeira

Aloha, James.  Your BM is almost unrecognizable from the picture you posted in February (post #35)!  Must be that Texas heat.  Good looking plant!

James, your BM is growing just like mine! Fast and furious! I left one fig on mine so if all the stars and moons line up right I might be able to taste it this season. BM does seem to like the Texas heat and humidity.

My Smith tree came from Danny (dkirtexas) last August.   It was an air layer from his.

Despite the plant totally dying to the ground this past winter, I just had my first fig from this one year old cutting. I would compare the taste to a sweet fig on steroid.
In addition to it being sweet, a wonderful complex berry flavor explodes in your mouth that makes you crave for more. I could've left it on the tree for one or two more days, but couldn't wait!

Tasty looking fig. I'm happy to see it grows well here in Texas too! Thanks guys for the updates.
