IMO

I am a newbie and I saw many writeups include IMO. This might be a silly question...what is IMO?

In My Opinion.  :)  All that lingo is crazy.

Hahaha, it was a silly question...thanks sarah

If you don't know then ask, how else do we learn. ;-)

Welcome to the forum

It's true Dave..thanks

The question is, why? we are now txting everything, everywhere and it shows.  I recently conducted 24 "mock" interviews at the local high school, 6 applications/resumes contained more than 3 spelling errors.  I think txting is one of the causes, IMO, LOL

Me too have had problems understanding this modern mumbo/jumbo/lingo...
I have learned to use the famous google search for most of them.

Funny:
LOL = Laughing Out Loud.
I have heard of a story when a kid had some email encounters with his older dad.
Most of the kid's emails ended with a LOL.
Poor dad thought he meant 'Lots Of Love' ...

I sometimes have difficulty figuring out what the letters people use in place of phrases mean. I often have to use an 'acronym finder' to tell me.  IIRC, YMMV, DD, RL, and so forth...  ('If I recall correctly', 'Your mileage may vary', 'Darling daughter', 'Real life'..) There are far too many to know.

In the beginning here I didn't know what most of the fig acronyms were either. What the heck did VdB mean or KB or CdDB or MBVS/MVSB... If no one in the thread wrote out the entire name and I was interested, I asked. I figured if I didn't know, there would be others reading who wouldn't know either. Of course now I also use fig acronyms... and so it goes. (Lol, there currently is one in my fig wish list.)
