In Philly area this weekend - Nurseries to check out?

I plan on being in the Philly area this weekend, the northwest side (Bethlehem, Allentown, Quakertown).  I already have planned visits penciled in to Trees of Joy (Bass') and Ott's Exotic Plants in Schwenksville.  Is anyone aware of other nurseries and greenhouses in the area that are worth a visit? (Especially those that might carry figs!)

How far from there are you willing to drive

Bills figs is less than an hour from where you'll be

If I had Gorgi's figs or Celts figs, I'd throw mine away.

Thanks for the suggestions!  If I don't get to some of these places on this visit, you've certainly given me some ideas for future visits.

Barry, does Meadowbrook carry any fig trees?  That looks to be a beautiful place to visit!

Oh, and I'd love to get to Bill's figs, but I don't know that it's in the cards this weekend, unless he has some amazing trees for sale that I couldn't pass up.

Gorgi why my house? All I grow is weeds but if I had a 155 you guys could come over all season

Meadowbrook does sell some fig trees, stock varies, mostly common stuff, but they do have Jolly Tiger. It is a nice place to visit if you have the time or you are in the area. I am only a few minutes from there, you could stop by here if you would like.

Thanks for the invite, Barry, I've sent you a PM.  Looks like I'm about maxed out on places to visit, especially since we'll be bringing our young one.

This got me to thinking, would anyone be interested in setting up a end-of-summer fig tasting/swap?  Most of my cuttings will have grown out rather well by then.  Unfortunately the trees in my orchard won't be bearing much fruit this year, and I live further from NJ than those in the Philly area (probably 3-4 hours from NJ).  I think I could convince my wife to hold something at our house and we could certainly have a lot of people as we're on 6 acres.

Any interest in something like this?  Perhaps I should start another thread.

Tim,

I certainly would be interested. Bill of Bill's figs does something similar for his customers. He holds a fig fest with all manner of fig dishes to consume, music and a chance to purchase his trees. There is another fig fest in NY, forget where, have not attended that one but I am planning to this year. Whatever you would do would likely generate a lot of interest to those close enough to drive.
