Anyone out there have pics/reliable references/sources for EBT figs? I have looked online without much success. Thanks!

Hi Ruben.  I am growing an English Brown Turkey.  I could take a picture, but so far it's just leaves and a few branches about 2 feet high.

I would say though, that it is a very strong grower and that it is branching out nicely already.

No doubt others have much more information, pictures of fruit, etc., but it is doing great as a young plant.

We got our EBT from Herman, and NO ONE knows their figs like Herman, so you can be sure it is a true EBT.

Thanks for the link, Alan. However, I am primarily looking for the source/references folks are using as the "standard" for what the EBT should be. Too many nurseries sell whatever they have as whatever people are buying. Surely there must be more material than the few words Condit wrote about the fact that EBT and San Piero (CA Brown Turkey) are different varieties. Anyone?

Ruben, I would check either Eisen's or Hogg's publications on figs. If my memory serves me right......Dr. Hogg was British.

FYI.....I obtained an English Brown Turkey from a fellow forum member. Herman2 had Id'ed his tree for him.  My tree has not produced many figs. But from I've seen and tasted, they are much better tasting than California Brown Turkey. They are a medium sized fig which have a strong figgy taste to them.

Ruben got this one last year locally. Did ripen allot of figs in its 1st season only thing I disliked so far is that they ripened one at a time about 4-5 days apart but besides that great tasting fig.

That is one nice-looking and produtive little tree! Interesting to note that the ostiole does not color or open until ripe. Thanks for posting it.

Ruben lucky for me It was loaded with figs when I bought it so it more than likely had a head start in a greenhouse. I pulled about 6 figs off from the top and the rest ripened. The ostiole did only turn a little redish at the ripening stage unlike my other brown turkeys wich is usually the other way around.

Hey Dan, very productive indeed I was lucky enough to have store credit and got two fig trees that day for free. The other fig tree is not EBT not exactly sure what it is but its just as productive and has more of a weeping growth.
