I first saw my unknown #9 a while back, planted in a half
barrel, a few streets/blocks from where I live. I knocked
on the front door and asked about it. The only info I got
was that it was a fig with green skin and red pulp, and I
was also given a twig.....
A year (or 2?) later, I acquired a known Paradiso from a
very reputable forum member. After both trees fruited,
I started noticing similarities between the two.
Last year I placed both side by side. Everything was/looked
the same to me; leaves, fruit, taste, time, etc. So I was
convinced that (at least 99%), they were the same
(i.e. my#9 is a Paradiso too!).
I was so much convinced, that this spring I gave it (#9)
away to the visiting parents of my neighbor. Due to space,
I try not to keep more than one fig of the same variety.
