In-ground Carini waking up. Also a question...

I was just saying on another thread how my in ground tree was still dormant.  When I got home yesterday, I noticed my Carini was waking up.
Most of the tips are green and healthy, while there are a few that look brown and dried up.  I think it's from the burlap touching these tips all winter and providing too much moisture.  When I removed the burlap a few weeks ago, the tips looked green, but have dried out since then.  The wood is bendable and doesn't feel brittle so I think they're still healthy.  Just wondering if a new bud will still emerge from here or will it attempt to send a new branch out?

Frank,

If there is  viable tissue in the bud and the bark, it will grow, but most likely, it will sprout from somewhere below there. I had a Stark Brown Turkey  that I just unwrapped, thinking I am far enough north that earlier would be too soon. Wrong! Not only dessicated, but moldy and it looks like right down to the roots. Everything I took into the garage is sprouting wonderfully. Might be time to pitch this puppy.

Thanks for the input guys.  Looking at it last night, it appears the buds below the tips are looking greenish and swelling up, so I think I'm ok.  Lots of breba figs forming too!
