Irish Spring soap --- Deer repellent?

  • jtp

I have heard this, too. Not sure how well it works. It is highly scented.

From my experience, I think it is a female repellent, as well.

only when mixed with Old Spice

Might work as a deterrent for a short period, but over time deer get used to it and ignore it.

It didn't work for me. Last year I didn't have a fence up around the garden and I tried the Irish Spring to slow down the deer. Didn't work at all.

A fence is the only real solution.  If it is just a specific plant or bed a scarecrow heat and motion activated water sprinkler works awesome.  Scares the hide off the deer and even once you move it the deer will avoid the area for awhile.

good deer rifle. prevention is key to everything.

edit: i love 80's bumper stickers. "peace through superior firepower".

12 gauge will stop them...
