is bone meal good for my fig tree?

?

Bone meal helps for root development. I use it and I think it is good as everything starts from the roots.

Bone is fantastic for root development.  It does not take a great deal to be effective.  For instance, I have 10 double knock-out roses and each Valentine's day, we trim them back to about 10-12 inches and spread about 1 2# bag around all of these and lightly scratch it in.  I then put on some slow-release fertilizer and mulch heavily.  That is all they get until the summer and they do fantastic!

I started using it on my inground figs and they are doing well also.  It may be that I also mulched them with 10" of mulch which helps prevent RKN and keeps the roots cool and damp.

how much could a put? is there a maximum to it?
can I put it in my 1 gallon potted FIGS?

I sprinkle a tablespoon of blood and bone meal around the trees and work it in. Not right up next to the trunk but a few inches out and water well. Think its awsome stuff and all organic. Can't go wrong.

How long does it take for the bone meal to take affect? I read that it takes time because it has to break down first.
