Is Down's Celeste & Celeste different figs?

if not, can somebody provide me any pictures? and which one of those two are better in terms of taste , sweetness and production?

Never heard of Down's Celeste, but there are several different strains of Celeste. My Celeste here is the same as Blue Celeste.

George,

Do you have a link or any other information concerning the listing for this fig?

I can't seem to find anything on the internet about Down's Celeste,
can you get any information from your donor?

Sent an email to my Down's Celeste donor... Things were hectic with him when I adopted the figs, so don't know if he'll get his messages.  Hopefully we'll hear back :)

I received some "Downs Celesto" cuttings from a generous donor(different donor than above) just at the end of winter, and they have rooted well, and are already uppotted...as far as the name, I can't find it on the Encanto Farms variety list, so I'm not sure if it is an unknown variety that was re-named, or maybe a different strain of the regular Celeste...but either way it is a good grower, and I am anticipating finding out just what type of fig it will produce.

I am the guilty culprit who has been spreading Downs Celeste. I got a small tree from John Woods about 4 years ago and it is a vigorous grower with large leaves and a medium size fig, tan to light brown that is delicious That is the name given to the fig by Dr. John Woods, an avid, knowledgeable fig grower.  I talked with him today and found he got the plant from John Downs about 10 years ago who lived in Michigan at the time.  It has proven to be a good tasting, productive fig that has been hardy for 10+ years in an unprotected area of zone 7a east tn.  Cuttings have rooted  quickly and easily.  I swapped cuttings with Pylot a while back and he has since spread the tree.  IMHOP, it is not a Celeste at all ( I grow Celeste too).  Downs is productive, hardy, good tasting, good size and does not shed fruit when weather gets hot.  I took a pic of the tree today in the rain with my cell phone,  many leaves are simple leaves and large.  The limb is bent at a strange angle to show brebas and this leaf now is larger than my hand.  In the background is a Smilax or Jackson vine.
