Yes, a leaf does not maketh a fig alone, my Black Genoa had 3 different leaves at once last year. But I think Greek commercial growers would know their figs better than anyone (see link below). With all the photos that I have seen from Greece and my discussions with a grower, none of the true Vasilika varieties have mature finger-lobed leaves. As to whether they are Zailata or not, I do not know.

There are at least 20 Greek varieties and the general populace don't know their individual names. They commonly refer to figs as being either MAVRA SIKA (Black Fig) or ASPRA/LEFKA SIKA (White Fig). It is misleading to have named a variety 'MAVRA SIKA' because in Greece there are many varieties of MAVRA SIKA!.
Even now in Australia, Greeks call figs with even the slightest dark tinge 'MAVRA' and any fig with a green or yellow colour as 'ASPRA'....we like to keep things simple. ;)
By the way for those that are curious, SIKA is prounounced 'SEE-ka' .
Apologies if this has been previously explained by another Greek member here.
Hey but who cares? That green fig still looks great!
