Is it too late for new developing figs?

Two weeks after I started to water with half dose of liquid fertilizer I am starting to see a lot of newly forming figs above most leaves.
About 70% of the plants are now showing figs.
Is this going to effect the plant development, and...are they going to ripen?

One more thing I noticed after using this liquid fertilizer is that all the leaves became darker (richer) green and the patches of faded green has been going away.

Count 75-80 days forward. That will be around the end of Oct. You should be able to ripen them just fine in zone10

Aaron: You have a lot of fig trees in one-gallon containers. Very busy man.

If we get a nice "indian" summer, you might enjoy some late figs.

also, would it damage the plant leaving the figs to ripe? I guess now I am panicking because initially I wanted them to just grow green, not figs but now... it might be too many figs on them for the first year.
Should I remove them, should I leave them on...?

Jon sometimes ripens figs in December.  Once I think he talked about getting figs in Feb.  You guys kill me!  You're just looking for ways to make me feel like a slug being sprinkled with salt!  :)  I'm not sure I'm going to get any main crop figs this year.  It's August and we're having cold spells.  I might have to turn the heat on tonight.

In all seriousness I'd leave at least 1 fig on as long as there are new leaves forming.  It's not as if you're going to lose branches from a frost if they don't harden off.

There is a point when it is too cool to be worth the effort. When the temps are consistently below 80F in the day time, the fig with go through the ripening ritual, but will not develop the sugars and flavors to make it worth eating.

Last year my Verte did this, only more like October.  I KNEW the figs wouldn't ripen, but the tree never went dormant, and they ripened in July.  So tons more on the tree.  We shall see.........

Tam,
It will allow me , in future, to select only the best for the final selection to transfer to the forest :)
The ones under the tree are the duplicates and if not needed will be given away.

Is anyone using this particular type of Liquid Fertilizer?
