Is Kadota fig ok for Northeast?

  • PHD

Today I stopped by a local nursery and they had a nice looking Kadota fig tree from Monrovia. I was tempted to buy it even though it was a little pricey. Can Kadota be successfully grown here in the Northeast or are there better choices for white figs?

I tried it.  Got plenty of figs, the were pretty good but didn't handle the rain or even the humidity well so I yanked it out of the ground.  It dosen't have a tight enough eye for my climate.  Some years its great but overall there are many better choices.

Mine would not ripe ,only a few fruits the rest were inedible.
In my climate it does not have enough warm ,and long Summer to ripe properly all the crop.
