Is Kala Heera/Ghosh and Desert King the Same?

I have both of these figs and had heard that they may be the same? Any other fig experts like to chime in?

I hope not. Don't need another DK.

Kala Heera (Meaning 'Black Diamond' ) should yield dark figs unlike Desert King. Mine has a few breba the first time this year after threatening it with getting rid of it.  It is one of those that I stored in the garage and was slow in greening up in spring but finally did and came up with breba. I will know more after breba ripening sometimes in July and will post a picture.

EDIT: It is july 2015. I have GHOSH/Kala Heera for the past 6 or 7 years and waas ready to shred it since it always dropped fruit before ripening. However, this year in July it ripened 4 breba todate. The ripened fruit on my GHoosh (Kala Heera) looks much like Desert King in shappe and colour but slightly bigger and the taste was yum yum.

A figriend once mentioned he is almost sure it is the same. My tree is in neglect state because of his comments. Hope Ottawan can let us know when he gets a ripe fig.

Thanks Jon, I had heard from another very learned fig collector that he was pretty sure they were the same. Would be nice to have some pics to compare side by side.

I don't know the origin of the DK but the Ghosh/Kala Heera is from Pakistan.
I have the Ghosh ( no fruit yet ) and have several DK cuttings rooting as we speak.

Like Jon, I hope they are not the same.
I have tasted the DK at Adrianos and it is in the ground and hardy.
Great tasting fig too.

But I'm leaning towards Akrams remarks for the time being.

Say Jon and Rafed, is the jury out on this? Just curious.

Mine produced figs that are identical to desert king breba.

Have new pix, but need some time to get them ready.

Thanks Jon!  I got cuttings that will be rooting soon and I'm curious what this guy looks like.

My Ghosh (AF) was the same as Desert King.

These are my first ripe Ghosh figs from trees started from a cutting two years ago. This cutting originated supposedly from Pakistan, does it look like a Ghosh? It's not one that we see here much on this Forum. I'll get an inside view later. You can see that it is a small to medium sized fig when compared to my BT. Taste was not too sweet, but pleasant.
