I would like to know if it's too late to do grafting ?

I have not grafted figs, but generally you want to graft any tree when the rootstock is actively growing. That provides the energy to heal the graft and push out new growth.

figs are commonly grafted using chip budding. This is done in the middle of growing season. Other trees should be grafted in early spring. I just got done grafting Persimmon, Pawpaw, Jujube, Pears, Mulberry, Peach, and Apricots.

How did you graft a persimmon ? What variety ? I was thinking to do it too. I know is a fig forum but will be interesting to find out about persimmon grafting.

I graft persimmon using the bark grafting method. I wait until the leaves started to grow in early spring, then i select branches growing stright up, and not side branches that tend to die as the tree grows. I cut the branch and make a stright cut and peel the bark. I insert the scion below the bark. It takes about a month to find out the results.
