Is raintree any good?

I have delt with two places in the past when getting figs. hirts garden i got a hardy chicago from that i am pleased with. the other was willace orchard which i bought what i was told was a brown turkey but seems to be somthing better. (but not what i thought i was buying none the less) Raintree has a fig i am looking at and i was wondering if anybody has bought figs from them before. when looking for something spacific you dont want mislabled items. i have never delt with raintree in the past and hence the delima.
The fig tree i am looking for is norland and the have one advertised. i am looking at this fig due to its cold hardyness. from switzerland and supposed to withstand temps lower than 10 F.

Had a lot of different stuff from them over the years. Have always been a good source in my book.

Thanx Jon, comming from you thats good enough, you know your figs.

Yeah they are very good

I got three fig trees from them last season. 2 were one gallon pots one was a ten inch sleeve. One of the gallon pots was infested with some sort of a white root eating grub with a copper head. That tree was severely weakened, I bare rooted it and eventually it grew, Raintree refunded my money. The tree that was in the 10 inch sleeve was at least 2.5 years old, and about 3.5-4 ft tall. I cut that one in half and it took a long time to get going as well. The third was great.

I have bought many trees and bushes from Raintree over the last 10 years, this was the only time I got something I wasn't pleased with. They will replace or refund(your choice) anything that doesn't grow.

The funny thing is that I bought a Goji berry from them with the refund from the fig tree. When that plant showed up, an official insect inspection tag from the state of Washington was attached. So maybe they had a problem and that was part of solving process.

Five stars!

Raintree is located about 50 miles from me. I have gone to a couple of their workshops on Grafting and Pruning. I have been dealing with them for about 8 years.  I have purchased Apples , Blueberries and Blackberries form them over the years and so far all of the trees, bushes and vines have ALL produced fruit.

This last October ,I drove up to the nursery and picked up a couple of Fig's and 3 balled & burlapped Apples . The Figs were 'Nordland' and 'Sultane' . Both were healthy  and in one gallon pots.

Awesome quality fruit trees.

Jennifer sums it up. First rate company. I've never had a problem with anything I've gotten from them.

I got 4 bare fruit trees from them last year, 3 did OK, one plum never sprouted, except from some suckers, So I called them and the lady told me to cut the sucker, cut the trunk a bit more untiil it was green and wait, if no grow to call and they would give me another tree.   I don't see any 'goodness' in their trees, I got some from a discount market "grocery outlet" for $10 and 2 apples at close out at Lowes for $14 and they have better growth than those at 20Plus trees at Raintree.  Now, have to wait and see what kind of fruit.  Curious the horticulturist called me back and told me that I should get the Madeleine of 2 or 4 seasons, but Raintree does not carry that variety... Regardless, their customer service was excellent.

I have their beautiful catalog sitting next to me.  They have so many tempting fruits, and I love reading about them all.  I ordered blueberries and raspberries (wishful thinking for someone living in a climate not condusive to them), and the raspberries bit the dust, but the blueberries truck on and gift one or two berries per year.  JD and I split them.  Can you imagine splitting a blueberry?  LOL!  They taste really sweet and will appreciate being moved to a better climate for sure!

I think they are an excellent nursery!

I have purchased many things from them: figs, apple trees, a plum tree, pear tree, blueberries, currants, gooseberries, strawberries... and more I can't think of off the top of my head. Been pretty pleased with it all thus far. Good customer service when I have called and emailed. Very prompt. Another one I have dealt with is One Green World (in Oregon) and was pleased with their stuff too. Good luck.

I have purchased persimmons from them (and maybe a couple other trees/shrubs) and have had an excellent experience with them.

Plant quality and customer service were excellent when I dealt with them. Shipping, however, was a bit steep, as they had to ship to the other coast. I tend to look closer to home if I can, but Raintree does have unique items. Just wish I could grow lingonberries here.
