Was bought in baton Rouge as louisiana becnel black i just wanted to know if this fig looks like Black maderia and fruit thanks richie

Richie,

Kind of hard to tell 100%, but I would say no, based on those pics.  Were there any single-lobed leaves (spade shaped)?

No... why are you asking?

Johnny I bought it as becnel italian black and cant find any actual pics of it anywhere that look like mine they have long finger leaves that i found in research. I don't have black madeira but thought it looked like it some what. Just wanted people's opinions thats all. Thanks richie

The leaf is most definitely not typical for a BM.

Thank you 5hats what i was looking for ,answer too

Come on Rich, that is not the way fig sales work. No one sells Black Madeira by a lesser name, it usually a lesser named fig sold as Black Madeira, although Italian Black is a good fig. Keep up the good work of growing figs, I enjoy your posts.

Yeah, I would say no to what I see. I have 2 black Maderia plants and they do not resemble that. However, they are infected with FMV and that does change their leaves a bit. Nevertheless, your leaf example does not really match what I have generally seen in BM.
Good luck with your growing!

Thanks peps. !!
