Is this normal? New fig development next to old fig

This seemed a little odd, like the tree ran out of nodes for figs so it's adding more to same node at different date!
I've never seen it so just curious to how common this is.
Thanks

Hi,
Funny, but not often seen.
The problem now is the two figs will steal the resources from one another ... Perhaps better to remove the small one . But that's up to you.
I had BT make 2 figs at the same time on some nodes (double main crop figs on one node). But those would always be smaller on ripening than the figs that were alone at their node.
So in the end, it was funny but not interesting in my case.

My # 295 UNK Cerro produced many doubles I took some off and left some and it doesn't seem to have made a difference

I've had a number of "doubles" on some small Banana/Kadota figs that I rooted late last year. Looking for pics, but can't find them...

Some years seem to enhance this affect. Perhaps a weather issue. Have seen it in many varieties at one time or another but it has been several years since it last occurred on my trees.
